Support

 

The majority of our financial support comes from:

The Department of National Defense through the Cadet League of Canada, and Prairie Region Cadets.

This support provides for the mandatory training in certain subjects, uniforms for cadets, and training for officers.  It is through this generous financial support that we are able to offer the core program behind all our training.

2313 SALH RCAC (Kiwanis) is also co-sponsored by the
South Alberta Light Horse "A" Squadron, Canadian Forces Militia Unit.

  In accordance with QR(Cadets), the Canadian Forces provides or helps to provide:

    • supervision and administration of cadet corps
    • material to cadet organizations, in accordance with the scales of issue approved by the Minister
    • training, pay and allowances for cadet instructors
    • funds for payment of annual grants, band grants and training bonuses, authorized by QR(Cadets) and QR&O
    • transportation, as authorized by the Minister
    • facilities and staff for summer training establishments, camps and courses approved by the Minister
    • syllabi and training aids, in accordance with scales of issue approved by the Minister
    • medical care as authorized by QR(Cadets)
    • liaison with cadet corps
    • officers or appropriate civilians to carry out annual inspections
    • policy on the enrollment, appointment, promotion, transfer and release of cadet instructors policy respecting agreement for the employment of civilian instructors and the terms of their employment policy on membership requirements for cadets, appointment to cadet ranks and transfer of cadet between cadet corps

     

    Optional training subjects are funded through local assistance and financial sponsorship from a number of organizations including but not limited too:
     
    The Medicine Hat Downtown Kiwanis Association

     

     

     
    The Medicine Hat & Redcliff Royal Canadian Legions

     

     

     

    We also receive valuable assistance and support from B.A.T.U.S.
    (British Army Training Unit Suffield)

     

    It is through these and other generous financial contributions that we are able to offer such a diversified program to the Army Cadets in the Medicine Hat area.
